The Rolling Hills Asylum is located in Genesee County, New York. There have been reports of mysterious shadow people and there have been pictures of them. There have also been reports of random screaming and doors held shut. The rolling hills asylum was built on December 4, 1826. Asylum does not mean crazy people locked away but a poorhouse for the habitual drunkards, lunatics (one who by disease, grief or accident lost the use of reason or from old age, sickness or weakness was so weak of mind as to be incapable of governing or managing their affairs), paupers (a person with no means of income), state paupers (one who is blind, lame, old or disabled with no income source) or a vagrant. This eventually evolved into a loony bin for people that were mad and committed misconduct. Those that were able worked on the farm and made wares to sell and trade. There was a cemetery there one time but there has been no found document of a plot map or list of people buried. The asylum closed in 1974 and the patients moved to a facility in Batavia but some still linger waiting to be found....
In Virginia on Pocahontas highway there are vague warriors wearing full armor carrying torches and heavily armed every night. There has been recent sighting in 2005 by a delivery truck and by toll booth workers. People believe that it may have been paved over a burial sight for Indians. Officers claim to have heard pounding drums in the distance. They have also claimed to have heard war whoops and shouts. A toll booth worker had her drink move around on the table on it's own and left the spirits to have it. A recent investigation by archeologists concluded that the highway ran over two ancient Indian villages. Some people say that it might have been a publicity stunt to get the highway off to a good start.
